Celtic Music for Flute and Piano is a Flute and Piano version of the very successful book, “Celtic Music for Flute and Guitar." Guitarists aren’t always easy to find, and many flute players have requested that we publish a flute and piano version. The piano score has the piano left & right hand parts along with the flute melody (see pdf file below), the flute score is a pull out section that can be played by the flute player away from the piano score.
This music is an exchange of ideas between the musicians. In this book, sometimes the flute will have the lead and sometimes the piano. The music is conversational; thoughts are passed back and forth, and when that happens, the music comes alive. We get lost in this music. Play the beautiful “Hewlett" or the haunting “Separation of Soul and Body," then turn to “The Song of the Chanter," and you will be hooked. This is music that comes alive every time you play it.
The book comes with a Play-Along CD. The piano parts, performed by Andrew Gordon, are on the right channel. The recorded flute sounds on the left channel. This separate-channel format allows you to silence the recorded flute part and play the music with the pianist.

MUSIC OF SPAIN & S. AMERICA FOR FLUTE

Music of Spain and South America for Flute by Allan Alexander contains 42 pieces which can be played solo or with a chord instrument. This great collection includes music from the Spain and South America. Most of the pieces have been extended with variations, which make the tunes a more suitable length for performances and are a lot of fun for the flutist to play.
Every tune in the book is included on the digitally mastered CD. Though the tunes are very effective as solo material, Allan chose to record them with flutist Wendy Norman. Wendy has given a skillful, delightful performance of the music and Allan has rendered the chords artfully. The result is a really lovely CD; listening will be a pleasure.
For the player who is new to music of Spain and South America, the recording will give insights into the melodies, and it will allow the flutist who has no access to a chord instrument to hear and play along with the guitar as the flute part can be turned down by fading one channel. For those who know some of these wonderful tunes, it will be a joy to have the music and hear them played by two musicians who obviously love to play this music together. The CD which comes with the book has all 42 of the tunes in the same order in which they appear in the book.
