2010 Reading Session Information
Presented by American Music Company
Come to our 18th Annual Reading Session
American Music Company is proud to present our 2010 Reading Sessions for Beginning through High School Choir, Large High School/Collegiate Choirs, Church Choirs, Concert Band and Orchestra.
Please note that all sessions, except the Concert Band session, will be held at Northland Cathedral in Kansas City, Missouri. The Concert Band Session will be held at White Recital Hall on the campus of University of Missouri at Kansas City. The Concert Band Reading Session is sponsored by American Music Company, Alfred Publishing Company, and the 2010 Wind Band Teaching Symposium. Registrants of the Reading Session will be allowed to audit the morning sessions of the Symposium for Thursday, June 24th. Registrants of the Symposium will be able to attend the reading session without registering for the reading session. The 2010 Wind Band Teaching Symposium features several prominent clinicians, including H. Robert Reynolds.
We are excited to share the best new music with you from a variety of publishers as well as give you a chance to see old friends and make new ones. Each of our sessions, this year, will feature music from multiple publishers. The music will be hand selected as the best from the new publications of all major publishers. Our schedule allows you to spend the weekend exploring what Kansas City has to offer rather than only seeing your hotel room! We have negotiated a special room rate with the Fairfield Marriot near the Airport for those attending from out of town.
You will find our clinicians are among the best, and the music you will hear will serve you for this year and years to come! (Choral Session attendees will receive a sample copy of each song)
College credit through UMKC is available for those attending the sessions. Contact Mara Gibson with the UMKC Conservatory's Continuing Education Department for more information at (816) 235-2742.
