With regard to style, these short symphonies of 1735 resemble the Neapolitan opera buffa, the descriptive title implying the beginning of stage works. Locatelli's works were well known throughout Europe until the end of the 18th century, although the composer led a very secluded life. He had no students and never performed in public. 	Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) Features: The opening theme from the first movement of Mozart's serenade Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) is one of his most recognizable. Written in 1787, the same year as his famous opera Don Giovanni, this masterpiece is an excellent example of Classical composition, although likely written as light entertainment music for a party or dinner. This arrangement includes themes presented in the exposition of the first movement: the bold, arpeggiated opening theme, and the gentle, lyrical second theme.
