ORGAN MUSIC PERFORMED BY DR. JAN KRAYBILL FOR THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE AUDITORIUM ORGAN AT THE COMMUNITY OF CHRIST"S INTERNATIONAL HEADQUARTERS IN INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI, USA.
The organ was built by the Aeolian-Skinner company of Boston, MA in 1959. The acclaimed organist Catharine Crozier premiered this organ to an audience of 7,000 on November 6, 1959. The organ gained significant recognition across the nation on John Obetz's weekly radio program "The Auditorium Organ". This magnificent instrument and its counterpart, the 1993 Casavant (IV/102) organ across the street in the Temple, have hosted the world's best organists in recital. This disc memorializes the 50th birthday of the Auditorium Organ, November 6, 2009, when Crozier's inagural recital was re-created by Jan Kraybill, the current Principal Organist and Director of Music for the denomination.
